The commercial division of the High Court has given Bank of Uganda (BOU) up to 15 days to file its defense against Sudhir’s counter-suit of last week.

The tycoon sued BOU for breach of a contract BOU and himself signed in March this year, duly signed by the Governor.

The contract called ‘Confidential Settlement and Release Agreement’ stated among others that no party would bring any court case against each other or related parties, civil or criminal after signature of the contract.

In latest suit, the businessman is demanding from the central bank UGX30b, certificates of titles, and release of mortgages on a couple of his properties.

Eyewitness24 can confirm that the summons, issued by the registrar of the commercial court where delivered to BOU’s lawyers’ last Thursday, the same day the property mogul filed his answer to BOU’s suit.
