Put Country before Self – M7 tells Patriotism Corps

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appealed to patriotism corps to put country before self in ensuring that Uganda achieve progress.

Museveni who was the Chief guest at the pass out of students who have been undergoing a 10-day patriotism training in 254 schools in the 5 divisions of Kampala asked them to remain and do what is important to ensure a brighter future.

The function held today at Kololo ceremonial grounds saw over 45,000 patriotism corps passed out by the President.

“Put country before self and ensure you keep yourselves well because you cannot do much without a healthy body so avoid things that might jeopardize your future,” said the President.

The President was accompanied by the First Lady and Minister for Education who said loving Uganda is a duty for right thinking and said that the program will cover the entire nation.

The President further implored the students to love their environment and countrymen as well as the East African bloc.

“When I say love Uganda, I mean love all Ugandans, don’t discriminate but secondly, you need Uganda especially if you are a wealth creator like me who is a milk, beef and banana producer in Ntungamo and Rwakitura and with Maama and our children we produce all the three,”

The VIPs present included among others, Vice President Hon Jessica Alupo, Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, Minister for ICT Hon Chris Baryomunsi, Hon Peter Ogwang, Hon Richard Todwong, the National Vice Chairperson MK Movement in charge of central region Mr Frank Gashumba and his colleague for western Mr Balaam Baruhagara.
