All is set for NAM 2024 and G77+China Summits

With 3 days left, all is set for the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and G77+China Summits to be held at Speke Resort Convention Center – Munyonyo in Kampala between January 15-20 and 21-22 respectively.

Today, the Head of Public Service and Chief NAM Organizer, Lucy Nakyobe, held a meeting with selected, trained and accredited drivers for the for the summit at Kololo Airstrip.

Yesterday, the Minister for Information, Communication, Technology and National Guidance, Honourable Chris Baryomunsi informed the public that world class internet had been installed at Entebbe International Airport to ease communication for the guests.

Earlier this week, the Entebbe International Airport Extension of Terminal Building was operationalized ahead of these summits.

Meanwhile, the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has successfully illuminated 96% of the Kampala-Entebbe expressway.

Today, UNRA tooke members of the press on a media tour to document infrastructure improvements around Kampala ahead of the Summit.

The summits will attract over 1500 guests from 120 countries which the President says is a good number for Uganda’s tourism.

Guests, including heads of State, will start arriving tomorrow January 12th all through to Sunday January 14th and the Police warned the public especially around Munyonyo to expect traffic disruptions for the entire week.
