Anti-Homosexuality Act created economic impact – Minister Musasizi

The State Minister for Finance, Hon Henry Musasizi,  has revealed that the enactment of the Anti-Homosexuality Act has created external financial risks for the country.

Musasizi says that the financial impact will lead to uncertainty for Uganda and because of that forecast, it has prompted the Government to intensify negotiations with the World Bank to lift the ban on financing new projects in Uganda.

“The enactment of the anti-homosexuality Act has created external financing risks and uncertainty. We have continued with our engagements with the World Bank to ensure the lifting of the ban on the financing of the new projects,” said Musasizi.

A few days back, The US Government removed Uganda from the AGOA trade deal which has been one of the avenues where Uganda has been earning.
