Banyarwanda Community Celebrates Kabaka’s 31st Coronation Anniversary

Kampala, Uganda – July 31, 2024

As the Kingdom of Buganda commemorates the 31st coronation anniversary of His Highness Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, the Banyarwanda community has extended their heartfelt congratulations and goodwill to the monarch, his family, and the entire kingdom.

In a letter addressed to Kabaka Mutebi, Frank M. Gashumba, representing the Council for Abavandimwe, lauded the Kabaka’s steadfast leadership through turbulent times and highlighted the significant achievements witnessed in the kingdom since his coronation in 1993.

“The Banyarwanda community congratulates you, your family and the entire kingdom of Buganda on reaching this auspicious occasion,” Gashumba wrote. “We express our sincere utmost gratitude to your Highness and to your forefathers who welcomed Banyarwanda in Buganda and allowed us to settle peacefully, co-existing as one people in your kingdom.”

The message also acknowledged Kabaka Mutebi’s recent medical travels to Namibia, offering prayers for his swift and full recovery. “We pray for a speedy, full recovery, and for God’s guidance and protection as you continue to reign over Buganda,” the letter stated, emphasizing the community’s loyalty and support.

This gesture of goodwill underscores the enduring bond between the Banyarwanda and Buganda communities, rooted in a history of mutual respect and cooperation. As the Banyarwanda community pledges their continued loyalty, they join many others in celebrating the legacy and leadership of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.
