Beehive activities at Entebbe as NAM Summit kicks off tomorrow

Entebbe has been busier than usual since Friday last week when the guests that include delegates, businesspeople and journalists started arriving in the country for the much anticipated Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit scheduled to start tomorrow.

The Summit to be hosted at Speke Resort Convention Center in Munyonyo-Kampala, will be attended by over 2,000 guests from over 120 countries.

The Police last week told the public to expect inconveniences in the normal flow of traffic especially in the areas of Munyonyo and Ggaba Road.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who takes over the NAM Chairmanship will officially open the Summit where over 40 Presidents are expected to attend in person.

The Chairperson organizing committee, Ms Lucy Nakyobe said all is set to ensure a successful summit which will run for 5 days until January 20, 2024.

After the NAM summit, Uganda will host the G77+China summit which kicks off on January 21st.

Nakyobe said that this is a great opportunity for the country to showcase its investment, trade and tourism potential to the world.

Guests will enjoy super fast world class internet which has been installed at the airport, Speke Resort Convention Center in Munyonyo and Hotel Africana among other places according to the ICT Minister Honourable Chris Baryomunsi.
