The President of the National Unity Platform has suspended Hon. Mathias Mpuuga from the position of Deputy President (Central Region) for engaging in actions of corruption and abuse of office — which actions he has failed to give any satisfactory explanation for.
The statement was released by the National Unity Platform Party on Thursday 28th March 2024.
Mpuuga is accused of participating in a Parliamentary Commission meeting that awarded service awards to Commissioners where Mpuuga was awarded 500 million shillings.
Earlier this week the National Unity Platform was withdrawn from the Commission which he refused in a press conference on Tuesday saying that it was based on malice and hate campaign. The Speaker also refused the request to withdraw Mpuuga because it was not based on any illegality. However the party accused the Speaker for conniving with Mpuuga to block their decision!
