Suspected ADF rebels attacked Kamwenge District last night and killed ten people including the area Woman Councilor who was burnt to to ashes. The news of this attack was confirmed by the area MP Hon Cuthbert Abigaba Mirembe through a statement.
“This morning I have received very unfortunate terrifying news that suspected ADF rebels have invaded and carried out criminal activities Kyabandara parish in Kamwenge district. Over 5 people (exact number not established yet) have reportedly been killed including a female parish councillor for Kyabandara parish Hon Night”
Hon Cuthbert asked for vigilance in the wake of this incident, “this confirms the rebels have infiltrated into our area and calls for increased vigilance by all of us. Let’s identify and report any suspects we come accross in our respective areas”
Security intervened and is already in the area doing their work of flashing ADF rebels out!
“I salute our security team in the district (RDC, DPC, DISO, UPDF) for responding fast and deploying appropriately. We hope to succeed over the enemy” Cuthbert said!
“It is a challenging situation in and around Kyabandara, I call upon our people to remain firm as security hunts for these bad elements” Cuthbert reported.
The area of Kyabandara parish in Kamwenge Subcounty in Kamwenge District boarders with Queen Elizabeth National Park and Kibale National Park and was a hub of ADF rebels in the late 1990s and early 2000 until they were flashed out!
