The Budget process for the 2024/25 financial year has commenced after tabling of the Budget framework paper for the 2024/25 has been tabled in Parliament. The Speaker referred the said paper to the committee on Budget and other 15 sectoral committees for discussion. Speaker Among asked the Sectoral Committees to the Budget Committee for discussion by 15th January 2024 and also the Budget Committee to present its report to the house by 25th January 2024.
She also asked the Ministries to present the Ministerial Policy statements to the house by 15th March 2024 and the Leader of Opposition in Parliament to present his Alternative Agenda by March 2024. The Budget shall be presented to Parliament by 25th March 2024 for discussion and the sectoral Committees will table their reports by 25th April 2024.
