Buhweju student who got 4 at P. 7 gets sponsorship!

Atuhaire Fortunate, a P7 student from Buhweju District who got aggregates 4 at Primary seven has finally got a sponsor to help her pursue her academic journey.
Fortunate’s education was hanging in balance because her family was unable to meet her dream of joining Mary Hill High School and later to become a medical doctor. Fortunate’s mother is a single parent who was abandoned by the Father and she has to cater all the five children all who are in secondary schools.
After TV West ran her story, the area Member of Parliament Francis Mwijukye offered to sponsor Fortunate’s education so that ehe can meet her dream. However as luck may have it, Letshego Uganda offered to partner with Hon Mwijukye Francis to cater for Fortunate’s education. The company gave Mary Hill High School a cheque of 20 million to cater for Fortunate’s school fees from senior one to senior four.
The cheque was handed over to the Head teacher of the school in presence of Hon Mwijukye Francis, Fortunate and her mother.  Letshgo is a microfinance institution in Uganda and it did this as part 0f corporate social responsibility.
Fortunate thanked Hon Mwijukye Francis for offering to support her and for getting sponsors who have a hand in ensuring her education. She promised to work hard and to excel in her academic journey so that she can be able to achieve her dream of becoming a doctor.
