Church House loan fully cleared!

The Arch Bishop of the Church of Uganda the Most Rev Steven Kazimba Mugalu has announced that the Church has finished clearing the 60 billion loan of the Church House which has been outstanding.

“The Shs 60 billion loan that was used to build Church House has been cleared, courtesy of Equity Bank. The Church of Uganda now fully owns Church House” declared Archbishop Church of Uganda, Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu.

“I want to appreciate all my predecessors for their vision and support, His Excellency the President of Uganda, bishops, Christians from all dioceses, as well as all God’s people, whether Anglicans or not, institutions, and individuals who have supported us through Love Gift and other means to clear this debt” said Kazimba Mugalu while displaying a cheque of 9.106 billion to the Management of Equity Bank where the loan was borrowed.

“I also appreciate Equity Bank for renting 8 floors, with the 13th floor hosting our own Church of Uganda Family TV. My prayer is that Equity Bank will take the remaining space”.

The Anglican church constructed the Church House along Kampala road using a loan from Equity Bank and has since been struggling to pay the said loan.

In 2021, the Arch Bishop led a fundraising drive to raise 15 billion shillings that was remaining as the building was about to be taken over by the Bank
