The Archbishop for Church of Uganda, His Grace Samuel Stephen Kazimba Mugalu, has urged Male Members of Parliament (MPs) and all men in the country to desist DNA tests of children.

Kazimba instead asked all men to emulate Joseph’s calmness and simply embrace all children who end up under their responsibility and care.

“Children are a gift from God and having a responsibility of taking care of children is good and godly. Don’t bother with DNA tests as long as you are able to take care of the children under you, this will ensure peace and harmony in homes,” explained Kazimba.

The DNA tests of children whose parentage is in doubt has taken the nation by storm and has led to breaking and splits of homes, while in worst cases, some people have lost their lives after finding out the DNA results.

said that the passing into law the Anti-Homosexuality Act is one of the greatest thing the 11th Parliament did in 2023, because many people called expressing their appreciation, something that rarely happens.

The Archbishop has delivered the message during Christmas Carols by the Anglican Church at Parliament.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa said that the passing into law of the Anti-Homosexuality Act is one of the greatest thing the 11th Parliament did in 2023.

He said many people called expressing their appreciation, something that rarely happens after passing various laws, bills and amendments.

“This House isn’t very easy your Grace, it is very difficult to make a decision here and you receive a call to say thank you. And that is why this year has really been great for us, at least there is one decision we made and we received a call to say thank you. And that is passing the Anti-Homosexuality Act. Someone else would say, what else would you have done, that is what you are supposed to do. But when you fail, they roast you,” said  Tayebwa.
