Former Arua Hospital Regional Theatre Assistant Remanded over 210,000 Bribe

The Anti Corruption Court in Kampala has remanded Paul Wamana a former Theatre Assistant at Arua Regional Hospital to Luzira Prison  for soliciting a bribe of 210,000 shillings to a baby.

Wamana a resident of Anzuu Cell , Ayivu West Division  in Arua City appeared before Grade One Magistrate Esther Asiimwe and was charged with two counts of corruption.

It is alleged that on 22nd May 2022, at Arua Regional Hospital in Arua City, Wamana being employed as a Theatre Assistant by the Ministry of Health in the performance of his public function solicited for gratification of 210,000 shillings from Viola Joy Joseph  as an inducement to perform a surgical operation on her child Aron Nabil Bashir.

However  Wamana denied the charges  and was remanded to Luzira prison until  26th March 2024  when he will reappear in Court.
