Government to spend Sh280b on fighting corruption in 2024/25

Government has allocated Sh288.537b in the 2024/25 budget to fight corruption and accountability activities amongst its Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

The Inspectorate of Government (IG) is seeking for an additional Sh1.5b to conduct a National Integrity Survey aimed at seeking public opinions and perception on corruption in Uganda.

Government has plans to increase funding in future to fight against corruption and accountability in all its MDAs.

Corruption remains one of the challenges faced with government where billions are lost every year.

The Government has earmarked Sh349.477b for 2025/26, Sh440.179b in 2026/27, Sh506.513b in 2027/28 and Sh570.630b in 2028/29 to ensure corruption is totally eliminated.
