He noted that Kigezi, Acholi, and Lango subregions registered the highest number of jobs created while central Buganda recorded the lowest number of direct jobs created, he said the youth in Buganda need to be advised to focus.

“The fight against corruption is not as difficult as people think. In the coming days, we are going to cause a lot of casualties among the corrupt people. I am going to write to CID to go for these people because this is not political,” asserted Museveni.

He said remittances of Ugandans working outside the country have increased to $1.4b in financial 2023 higher than $1.1b in the financial year 2021/2022 and Uganda has continued to register growth.

The President explained that Uganda is undertaking joint projects with DR Congo and improve the border infrastructure to facilitate trade and financial services across the region.

In the recent past, the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) have caused mayhem in the Rwenzori region and areas around DRC-Uganda boarder.

“Despite a few incidences where ADF terrorists penetrated our borders from Congo and killed our tourists, Uganda is a safe and peaceful country. The government is further modernizing its infrastructure to detect terrorist incidences before they happen,” He said.
