The Ministry of Finance is expected to respond to audit queries raised on the need to recover Sh53b from 10,192 ‘ghost workers’ who had been on Government payroll for years.
It is during the verification exercise conducted in February 2023 which found out that the ‘workers’ died, some retired and others absconded from duty.
The Ministry officials will interface with Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) as the it scrutinizes the December 2023 Auditor General’s report.
