More Rot Exposed within NUP – Bobi Wine family accused!

Following Mpuuga’s rough talk on the family rule within the National Unity Platform after his refusal to step down from his Parliamentary Commissioner job, details have emerged that there is a lot of mismanagement going on within opposition political parties majory within the NUP.

In a statement by Mathias Mpuuga, he said that he was being witch-hunted because of his stand against lack of transparency in the management of the National Unity Platform. He also accused the Kyagulanyi family of masterminding intrigue in the party to secure what he called ‘small family interests’. This sentiment is shared by many MPs within the NUP like Abed Bwanika, Charles Tebandeke, Joyce Bagala among others.

For example it has emerged that Brendah Keijagye a sister to Kyagulanyi’s wife and therefore Kyagulanyi’s sister in law was appointed as a Policy Analyst in the office of the Leader of Opposition on orders of Kyagulanyi. When her contract having expired, Kyagulanyi pushed Mpuuga to ensure that his in law is put on permanent and pensionable but in vain until the current LOP Joel Ssenyonyi was forced to make her a Senior Personal Assistant.

Take note that the brother of Kyagulanyi Fred Nyanzi is the Secretary for Mobilisation in the NUP but also the head of “Kunga”, another pressure group within the party. Nyanzi has got a lot of power and influence within the NUP that makes other leaders uncomfortable.

There has also been allegations that Barbie Itungo the wife to kyagulanyi a signatory to all NUP party accounts. It has also been reported that Kyagulanyi is paid an unjustifiable salary of 100m every month from the party. It has also been reported that there is abnormal rent that NUP paid to Kyagulanyi for occupying Kamwokya buildings at the rate of 200m per month.

This is on top of lack of proper accountability and transparency for the almost 4bn Shillings that the party receives every year and the undisclosed purchase agreements for the party properties in Makerere Kavule where some of the titles are said to be in the names of Chairman Nyanzi, the elder brother to Bobi Wine.

As a result Bobi Wine family has continued to become rich as each of them constructs huge luxurious and palacious homes at the expense of their suffering supporters.

Indeed Bobi Wine has been seen travelling allover the world where he collects billions of money but he never discloses even a single penny to the Party. This justifies the multi billion apartments that he is putting up at Busabala Beach, six years after he was stopped from making any music concerts in Uganda.

“Bobi continues to live a lavish lifestyle, travelling abroad every other day with family and children at the expense of his foot soldiers who are languishing in jail” one of the MPs was quoted saying!

Bale County MP Charles Tebandeke on one of the talk shows said that all NUP MPs were forced to give 10 million each to Kyagulanyi when they received 200 million to buy cars and he personally refused and bought an ambulance which prompted Kyagulanyi to fight him by hiring bloggers who have since attacked him via Social media.

On one of the opposition Caucus MPs WhatsApp platform, Mityana Woman MP Joyce Bagala said Museveni is better as compared to Bobi Wine.

“It’s certainly annoying and frustrating, but this is where we are. From the point of some of us, Museveni can wait, we shall deal with him later” said Joyce Bagala.

Kimanya – Kabonero Division MP Abed Bwanika also accused Bobi Wine family of taking over the party.

“NRM was built on the basis of the Museveni family, now we see the same happening within NUP, with one family or one person becoming bigger than the party and that’s not how Parties operate. We shall fight that method of work, there is a hand using NUP leaders to fail greater Masaka from having strong leaders” said Abed Bwanika.

Mpuuga during his show on CBS accused NUP supporters of supporting hooliganism and abusing leaders including the Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga. He accused them of turning Bobi Wine into a cult leader who can’t be advised or challenged!
