MP Kaberuka Urges Boda Boda Riders To elect Capable Leaders Secures UGX 700M for Road Rehabilitation!

Kinkizi West Member of Parliament, Hon. James Ruggi Kaberuka, has urged boda boda operators in Kihihi Town Council, Kanungu District, to actively participate in politics and elect capable leaders who can effectively represent their interests in Parliament.

Hon. Kaberuka made these remarks while launching the Rovens Highway Boda Boda stage at Rovens World Hotel in Kihihi Town Council. He commended the association, led by Chairman Brian Byamukama, for organizing themselves into a structured group that can better advocate for their needs.

Pledging his full support to the association, Hon. Kaberuka expressed gratitude for the continued trust from boda boda riders and their willingness to engage with him on their challenges and achievements. In a major announcement, he revealed that he had successfully lobbied for UGX 700 million to rehabilitate the Meeting Point–Nyanga Sub-County road, a critical route for the community’s transport and business activities.

Chairman Brian Byamukama lauded Hon. Kaberuka for his dedication, noting that his presence and willingness to listen demonstrated true leadership. He also provided an update on the association’s progress, including the establishment of a SACCO to offer members affordable financial services.

Among the notable guests was Betty Namara Kataba, who urged government leaders to support such grassroots initiatives. She also encouraged boda boda riders to engage in sports as a way to maintain good health and nurture their talents.

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Kanungu Woman MP Hon. Kinshaba Patience Nkund, Rubanda Assistant RDC Hilary Bindeeba, Kihihi Town Council Mayor Sositne Atwine Buregyeya, Councillor Rogers Tumwesigye, and other key stakeholders.
