Mpuuga accuses gov’t of not punishing errant security officers!

The Leader of Opposition in Parliament the Rt Hon Mathias Mpuuga has accused the government for deliberately declining to prosecute errant security officers who commit atrocities but instead elevates them in rank. Mpuuga made the remarks in his rejoinder statement to the house during the Parliamentary debate regarding the missing persons.
“For instance, former Masaka RPC Enock Abaine who shot and injured a journalist Ashraf Kasire was transferred and promoted to the Environmental Police in Luzira” Mpuuga stated in his statement. Mpuuga added that the said Abaine is known to be lethal with blood stains on his hands. He also said that “during the 2017 age limit rally held in Rukungiri, the said Abaine allegedly shot a 19-year-old man”, Mpuuga argued in his statement.
