Parliament in high gear for the Conference of Speakers

As Parliament prepares to host the 27th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSCOP), Speaker Rt Hon Anitah Annet Among has thanked President Museveni for the financial support he extended to Parliament.

The Speaker said that financial assistance has enabled the legislature organise the conference.

The Speaker led the media on a tour at Munyonyo Commonwealth resort and later received some guests at Entebbe International Airport.

She expressed and extended gratitude towards the coordinating Committee led by Abdu Katuntu (Bugweri County), for the good work the team has done to organise the conference.

The Conference brings together the Speakers and Presiding Officers of the national parliaments of the independent sovereign states of the Commonwealth.

The Conference is an independent group and has no formal affiliation with the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, the Commonwealth Secretariat or the Commonwealth Heads of Government.

Among called on the public to be part of the conference as it comes with anormous opportunities in many aspects especially through tourism and hospitality.

“I want to invite you to be part of the conference, you may not be there physically, but you can keep praying for us to have a successful conference. As Ugandans, I want us to take advantage of the opportunities that are coming, with this conference,” said Among.

The conference kicks off on January 3th, 2024 to January 4th, 2024 at the Commonwealth Resort, Munyonyo in Kampala.
