Parliament Appointments Commitee has vetted three Justices of the Court of Appeal. The Commitee was chaired by the Speaker of Parliament the Rt Hon Anita Among.
The three nominees to the Court of Appeal include; Justices Margaret Tibulya, Kazibwe Moses Kawumi and Dr Asa Mugyenyi.
Speaker Among said that the decision of the Committee will be communicated to the Appointing authority as dictated by our rules.
The approval of these appointments follows the recent promotion of three Justices of the Court of Appeal to the Supreme Court which created vacancies in the Court of Appeal.
The Appointment of Judges is done by the President on the recommendation of the Judicial Service Commission & after nominating them, Parliament vets them for the Final appointment.
