Parliamentary Catholic Chaplain leaders take oarth

The leadership of the Parliamentary Catholic Chaplain led by their leader Hon Lucy Akello, the Amuru District Woman MP has taken oath at the Parliamentary building. The function was presided over by the Kasana – Luwero dioecece Bishop the Rt Rev Mukasa Lawrence yesterday at the Parliament main conference hall.  Bishop Lawrence Mukasa was the main celebrant at the Pontifical mass for Parliament’s annual Lighting of the Christmas tree which was attended by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament the Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa, several legislators and Parliamentary staff.

Parliament has several chapels which include catholic chaplain, Anglican chaplain, Pentecostals and the Muslims and these always hold prayers at Parliament on specific times to dedicate Parliament and the country to God’s hands. The chaplain leadership does the work of coordinating members of Parliament to attend to the different calls by their respective religious denominations.
