The State Minister for Finance, Hon Henry Musasizi, has told Members of Parliament (MPs) to stop looking at Presidency in personality of President Museveni but rather as an institution.
Musasizi was responding to allegations made last week that the Presidency comprises of 1,757 staff and 666 vehicles.
He noted that MPs should stop thinking that all the funds allocated to State House and Office of President are consumed by President Museveni as a person.
“We would like to correct the impression which was created out there, that all expenditures under State House are expenditures incurred by the person of the President in his House. These are institutional expenditures just like we do with our votes,” said Musasizi.
For a long time, MPs have been furious about the ‘fat’ allocation to the Presidency.
