Seku Mobilizes Teso Leaders to Back Museveni’s 2026 Re-election Bid

Commissioner for National Secretariat for Patriotism Corps-NSPC Ms Hellen Seku, a dedicated and influential leader in the last three days successfully mobilized elders and political leaders in Teso Region to endorse President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for re-election in 2026.

As the Chairperson of Presidential Zonal Tours, Ms Seku’s exceptional organizational skills and commitment to support President Museveni shone through in this impressive achievement.

The leaders from Teso Region endorsed His Excellency President Museveni for another term of office come 2026.

 

The elders, led by Mama Achama, were the first to endorse President Museveni’s candidacy at Boma North PlayGrounds in Kumi District, expressing gratitude for his appointment of dedicated leaders like Seku, Jane Barekye the State House Comptroller, and State Minister for Investment Evelyn Anite. Mama Charma praised their hard work, generosity, and efforts in arranging the meeting that resulted into the endorsement.

A day later, His Excellency Museveni received endorsement from political leaders in Eastern Region and Teso, led by Vice President Retired Major General Jessica Alupo and Captain Mike Mukula. This endorsement occurred during Museveni’s three-day visit to Teso Region, where he monitored progress on government programs like the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga.

While addressing leaders from Teso Region, Museveni expressed frustration over extortion by leaders supposed to facilitate access to PDM funds. He revealed intentions to engage Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny-Dollo to prevent bail for individuals accused of embezzling funds from Emyooga and PDM programs.

“The Internal Security Organization (ISO) has furnished me with a report of those arrested and later given bond by police,” Museveni said. He directed the Regional Police Commander not to grant bond to those implicated, emphasizing that stealing public funds will not be tolerated.

As Commander-in-Chief of the Uganda People’s Defense Forces, Museveni stressed that protecting the village economy is crucial and that the government will not allow individuals to undermine these initiatives. He reminded security officers that he will not tolerate leniency towards those accused of misappropriating funds and those who refund it after stealing it.

Museveni also shared success stories of individuals who adopted the Four Acre Model Agriculture, such as Betty Akia and former taxi driver Ijara, now earning over 600 million shillings annually.

The Chairperson of Presidential Zonal Tours, Ms Seku, appreciated the people of Teso for warmly welcoming President Museveni and making sure that the Teso regional Tour was concluded successfully.

“It was my distinct privilege to receive the President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E @KagutaMuseveni, in Kaberamaido district”, said Seku.

“I extend my sincere appreciation to the people of Kaberamaido for turning up in impressive and overwhelming numbers to graciously host the father of the nation as he brought his Teso Sub-region tour to a successful close. Yalama noi noi,” Seku added.

Thousands of people showed up to listen to the President’s wisdom.

Ms Seku distributed thousands of t-shirts bearing the President’s image and NRM’s economic transformation vision, leaving the community yearning for more. Her leadership and dedication have been instrumental in promoting NRM’s vision and values, making a significant impact on the community.
