Speaker Among mourns fallen FUFA Vice President

The Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Annet Anita Among has mourned the fallen Federation of Uganda Football Association 2nd Vice President Darius Mugoye who breathed his last on Tuesday morning at Mengo Hospital.

Speaker Among expressed her heartfelt condolences through her X (twitter) account on Tuesday morning describing Darius as a dependable, reliable, committed and trustworthy friend, “we are deeply saddened by the news of the demise of our brother Mr Darius Mugoye, the FUFA second Vice President. Darius was a very reliable, dependable, committed and trustworthy friend who we shall dearly miss” the Speakers message read in part.

Among also said that the death of Darius has left a huge gap in the sports fraternity, ‘he made tremendous contributions to the sports and education sectors and leaves a huge gap” Among tweeted.

FUFA President Hon Eng Moses Magogo, also Budiope East Member of Parliament also mourned his Vice President with whom they had closely served for over ten years, terming his death as a “heart break” . Other Ugandans especially supporters and promoters of Uganda’s sports fraternity also mourned the death of this sports icon

Darius who died at 42 years  was also an educationist who was the Director St Mary’s New Hope School, Nabweru and was a former Head Teacher of St Johns Kazo. He will be buried on Thursday 9th November 2023 at his country home Rubanga in Sheema District.
