The Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Anita Among has summoned the Chairperson Uganda Human Rights Commission Chairperson and her team to explain the controversy surrounding the 18 missing supporters of the NUP party!
In a meeting convened by Speaker Among which will take place on Monday 11th Dec 2023 at Parliament, others invited include the Prime Minister, Leader of the Opposition, Government whip, Opposition whip and other relevant ministers!
This came about after the opposition leaders accused the commission for failing to do their work and called of Judicial Commission of Inquiry!
However Anita Among said that we should trust and use our institutions instead of running away from them saying that if any body cant do his or her work, then he should be removed from office!
The Commission is expected to explain it’s role and whether it has the capacity to find the whereabouts of the other people!
