The Deputy Speaker of Parliament the Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa has hailed the UPDF engineering brigade for the excellent works done in renovating Entebbe International Airport. “Am so grateful to the Ministry of Defence and the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces Engineering Brigade for filling us with pride with their incredible work at Entebbe International Airport” Tayebwa said after visiting the airport.
He also expressed gratitude to UPDF for doing the work using little resources than other contractors would have used. “what’s even more amazing is that they completed the job for a fraction of the cost that private contractors were asking for, and they finished it on time”
He also thanked UPDF together with National Enterprise Corporation (UPDF investment arm) which have equally done a magnificent job of building a car manufacturing plant for Kiira Motors in Jinja. Tayebwa said that the two UPDF owned companies can tackle large-scale government projects, including important road developments.
For years UPDF capacity has been growing as they have undertaken huge infrastructure projects including renovation of Nambole stadium which is under completion
