People from all walks of life across the country have gathered at Alito town council in Kole District to send off Hon Cecilia Barbara Atim Ogwal who succumbed to cancer-related illness in India.
Top Religious, Cultural, and Political leaders and foreign delegates are among the thousands of people bidding farewell to one of the greatest politicians of her time.
As it was at Parliament, when her body was brought in the House for her colleagues to pay their last respects, speaker after speaker in Kole is talking about the big heart Ogwal had and how patriotic she was!
“In the last hours of the late Hon. Cecilia Ogwal, she advocated for the construction of Akii Bua Stadium. I request government that resources be allocated for the construction of Akii Bua Stadium,” said Andrew Moses Awany.
Ogwal lost her temper in Parliament when the Government announced that the funds to refurbish the Akii Bua Stadium to the required standards to host the forthcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations are not available.
The Government has been represented by the Vice President HE Jessica Alupo while the Leader of Opposition Opposition Hon Joel Ssenyonyi has represented the Opposition.
