Hon Achia Remigio has noted with sadness that Uganda’s arrears to International bodies have reached a ‘detrimental level’ for the country.

They include;

United Nations-US$452,800 (Shs1.731Bn)

Organization of Islamic Cooperation- US$595,166 (Shs2.278Bn)

African Union-US$829,363.46 (Shs3.169Bn)

Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) US$4,561,865 (Shs17.445Bn)

International Conference on Great Lakes Region- US$530,497.76 ( Shs2.030Bn)

Commonwealth Secretariat, GBP17,869 (Shs86,698,874)

UN PeaceKeeping Operations and Tribunals US$232,329 (Shs1.236Bn)

“The Committee observed that Uganda’s failure to pay its contributions affects its rights to participate, speak and vote during international meetings; and Summits and to place candidates for jobs in international organisations. This is detrimental to the country,” asserted Remigio.
