What the recent reshuffle mean for Gen MK Presidency!

The appointment of General Muhoozi Kainerugaba as the Chief of Defense Forces is another step to usher him into the Presidency of this country!

Take a note that his appointment comes after a few weeks when the president of Uganda Gen Yoweri Museveni signed the UPDF 2021 instrument which gives the CDF all powers over the administration of the army. Now Gen MK has powers to transfer, to deploy or to demote anyone without consulting Gen Museveni, powers that no army commander in Uganda has ever had! In Africa once you have the army then you have the power..

The appointment of key people in the PLU into the cabinet means that PLU is part and partial of government. It’s a vote of confidence in the PLU by Gen Museveni and positioning them to take charge of the state. Take note that Gen MK represents the younger generation and the appointments that were made like Balam, Nyamutoro, Lilian Aber and Namboozo represent the idea of the youth taking over!

Lastly Gen MK’s appointment has again positioned him as the next leader. Even when you check on internet you realize that General MK has received so many congratulatory messages from key leaders in this country like Speaker , Deputy Speaker etc more than the ministers yet in our hierarchy, the CDF is far below a Minister but nobody has even congratulated ministers as compared to how people have congratulated Gen MK.

What is surprising though is that whereas Gen Museveni is making all these strategic decisions that often can’t easily be understood, the opposition is not doing anything. The opposition political parties are just in slumberland or they don’t even know what to do as if they have no agenda!

If you haven’t been part of the NRM government, it’s better you book your place in the next government of Gen Muhoozi or else you become opposition forever!
