Politics aside, opposition leaders like Bobi Wine , Besigye among others should be guarded by the state security.

The other day I posted here advising that either sides ought to be serious, however some elements as usual misconstrued the post to suit their interests and attacked me, this what is what I meant.

One doesn’t have to support Bobi Wine, Dr Besigye or Gen. Muntu to appreciate the fact that they are national treasures in their own right whose security should be guaranteed by the State. When you shoot at Bobi Wine or make a statement that he has been shot! Any serious brain would know the magnitude of the two actions and their political implications. If these two actions are recklessly done, the repercussions might it be irreversible if not carefully handled. I know this as a veteran activist and a full time politician in self preservation.

There is need to rethink and redifine our policies and laws to make sense. Why would Joel Ssenyonyi be guarded and protected jealously by the State but not Bobi Wine his “ President “ and Boss ? What Security threats does Joel have ?

As usual, one would myopically argue that such state bodyguards would spy on the opposition leaders! The State does not need to deploy bodyguards to gather intelligence on you. Afande Muhumuza was deployed to Monitor Dr Besigye and to provide intelligence briefs everyday as far back as 2010 todate. I met him at Katonga recently when comrade Adam Mulwana died.

In the same vein, Bobi Wine is also under 24/7 surveillance, that is how the state works. I also know members of NUP who are State operatives on duty some of whom I have known for years, you see them clad in red overalls and berets acting serious and very committed and you laugh. We got the experience, we have gone through that.

I know for sure that there are colleagues who are desperate for change, some don’t want to know how that change can be achieved as long as there is change. Little do they know that revolutions eat their sons, It therefore becomes our cardinal duty to strive to achieve meaningful and or peaceful political change. Those who subscribe to the political change of Ensi egula mirambo know the address where to achieve such.

Lastly, it’s true that leaders like Bobi Wine, Besigye among others have their personal enemies known and unknown, like me and you do, the State or government of Uganda has it’s enemies known and unknown, I don’t need to mention them. Whenever there are security gaps, enemies always want exploit such gaps and they can calculatively shoot someone a leader as a spark. That is why such leaders should be guarded. Forget about the Kanyamas and foot soldiers whose security skills are equivalent to that of the “ Police Seargent “ in Kigenya Agenya. They can’t do anything to protect such leaders, we have been into the same.

Those who have been here in politics for long and following events unfolding, don’t need a lecture to understand that in RPF those who killed Rwigyema were the Bunyenyezis. The colleagues who were on the frontline with him. One does not need to be reminded about how Afande Kaweesi or Kirumira were murdered. There is always an inside job! Did Joe Biden send the young man who wanted to assasinate Trump?
