The Speaker of Parliament of Uganda Rt Hon Anita Annet Among has urged Ugandans to embrace Uganda’s health care instead of running to seek medication outside Uganda. Speaker Among who delivered twins on 23rd October this year said she was amuzed by Ugandans who were saying that he delivered from South Africa yet she delivered from Kampala Hospital which she said is one of the best private hospitals in Uganda.  She said even other hospitals like Nsambya and others are good. Among insisted that we should be able to live within what we have as a  country instead of running to seek medication abroad, “the perception of people keeping going outside of the country, we have a a very good health care in Uganda, I gave birth in Uganda, we must live with what we have” Among said.

Anita Among has been passionate about health care in Uganda and she has always advocated for enough funding for the health sector. In May 2023 during debate on the 2023/2024 budget, Speaker Among asked legislators to prioritize health care during debate so that Ugandans can get better services.
