Top 10 Most Unsafe Places to live in Uganda

If you planning to rent a house or relocate and your broker proposes an opportunity in one of these places, think twice before you decide.

With the number of murders increasing in the country, the following places are synonymous with crime and the rate is only growing.

  1. NYANAMA – KABOWA

It has been a reliable source of criminality for a long time. Andrew Kayiira started his rebel activities from Nyanama. The place is still a source of criminal activity today as then.

  1. KATAANGA – MAKERERE KIVULU

This is a den of mostly petty criminals. The rate is however rampant.

  1. KATWE – KINYORO

The slummy nature of this nature makes it prone to crimes.

  1. KABALAGALA

One of few towns in Uganda that operate 24 hours. The former army commander James Kazini was murdered in Kabalagala. It hosts a large community of prostitutes especially from Rwanda and Burundi.

  1. MENGO – KISENYI

It used to be the biggest slum in Uganda hosting the biggest population of Somalis in Uganda. Its status is now being threatened by places like Nansana, Bwaise, etc. Kisenyi is unsafe. It boasts perhaps the biggest community of prostitutes in Uganda.

  1. KIREKA

The nightlife of the area not only makes it not ideal to stay there but is also problematic as criminal usually hanger around in these bars.

  1. NAKULABYE

You will be excused for thinking this places isn’t in Kampala. It is. But the slummy nature and poor housing of Nakulabye makes it insecure. It’s one of the places the famous Kirumira made his name.

  1. KATABI AND NKUMBA

These two places, all situated in the Entebbe area have come to prominence because of the recent murders. Entebbe generally is now one of the most unsafe place to stay.

  1. BWAISE

Not only does the congestion of Bwaise make it inhabitable, it’s a source of crime.

  1. NANSANA

Nansana is the undisputed No. 1. It needs no introduction. Black spots include Kibuloka, Masitoowa, Kafunda, etc. The Police Officer Kirumira made his name in Nansana
