The Heads of State summit of the East African Community has admitted the Republic Federal of Somalia into as the eighth member state of the East African Community.
This resolution has been reached at in the 23rd ordinary summit that was held in Arusha in Tanzania!

Somalia becomes the eighth member of the block that has signed a number of protocols regarding security, trade, business etc.
The entrance of Somalia us expected to boost trade among the Countries. Among other expected benefits are security especially for Somalia which has been war gone for three decades as a result of alshabab rebels. East African Community has already deployed soldiers in Democratic Republic of Congo to deal with the M23! The same could happen Somalia as the AMISOM mission in which Uganda, Burundi & Kenya deployed soldiers in the country!
