The Speaker of Parliament the Rt Hon Anita Among has warned people who are spreading negative propaganda against Parliament. The Speaker was responding to an allegation by the NUP leader  Hon Bobi Wine in which he alleged that MPs had been bribed with 100 million for the supplementary budget that was recently. Speaker Among said that MPs are paid to do their work and their emoluments are paid through the Parliamentary Commission.

Among said that the people circulating that negative propaganda against Parliament are diverting Ugandans from questions regarding their support to homosexuality. “they are trying to cover their homosexuality saying that we are bribed, we are not bribed” Among told the house. She warned those propagating that propaganda saying that they should be able to say things they can substantiate, “eat your money for homosexuality quietly, sell your country and keep quite on your own’ Speaker Among warned.

Bobi Wine the NUP leader made the comments against Parliament in his press conference in which he was defending himself regarding his comments made on BBC last week in which he supported homosexuality and claimed that the Anti homosexuality law was brought in by government to target him and the opposition.

Hon Eddy Kwizera asked the Speaker to call the MP who made such an allegation to order and to be investigated but the Speaker said that Parliament should not be diverted to the  people who are receiving money from gay movement.

Sources say that the NUP leader who is under pressure by Ugandans decided to throw this allegation against MPs in order to divert Ugandans from asking him why he endorsed homosexuality yet Ugandans and their values are against this vice.
