The bitter Gen Museveni has directed the Chief Justice of Uganda Owinyi Dollo to stop the ongoing process of selling the muslim property which include the National Mosque at Old Kampala. In a letter addressed to the Chief Justice and copied to the Speaker of Parliament, Prime Minister, Attorney General, Minister of Internal Affairs and Mufti Ramathan Shaban Mubajje, the President expressed his dissappointment with Court on how they could attach the national mosque for sell. I have got a letter from His Eminence Mubajje the Mufti of Uganda, regarding the quarrel about the sell of muslim properties” the letter reads in part, “I was most surprised to read in Mufti Mubajje’s letter that among the muslim properties to be affected is the National Mosque at Old Kampala, really!!, What sane person, let alone a judge can make such orders” Museveni wondered in a letter!

Museveni also said that the judge should have used logic. “how can a mosque or church be attached for debts carelessly entered into by officials of that faith? if the law doesnt protect institutions of worship, then common sense is there” Museveni asserted before ordering Owiny Dolo to review the matter himself and restore sanity.
