Government to spend Sh35b on mindset change

The State Minister for Finance, Hon Henry Musasizi, has disclosed that the government is planning to spend Sh35.075b on mindset change and community moblisation in financial year 2024/25.

The Minister said that the activities to be undertaken include, among others, paying cultural leaders monthly emoluments to enable them mobilize Ugandans to embrace government programmes.

Promote national ideology, promote Local languages and Kiswahili as well as mobilizing young people in patriotic Clubs at schools and implement a National Youth Service Scheme.­

According to Minister, these activities will go a long way into forming an organized society for every Ugandan to enjoy and excell.

“Many countries inject much more into these programs but we are starting with that due to budgetary constraints and we are positive that it will impact greatly on our population especially the youth,” said Musasizi.
