The Deputy Speaker of Parliament the Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa has promised to give unwaivering support to the incoming Leader of Opposition in Parliament the Rt Hon Joel Ssenyonyi.
The message was contained in a congratulatory message on his Twitter (X). “Leader of the Opposition designate Joel Ssenyonyi, congratulations. Be assured, you have our unwavering support as you take on this crucial leadership role in Parliament” the message reads.
Tayebwa said Parliament leadership has confidence in Ssenyonyi’s leadership abilities, “we have complete confidence in your ability to fulfill your duties with great effectiveness”
Ssenyonyi will be the second Leader of Opposition under NUP as a main opposition party and will be the 7th leader of Opposition since the return of Multi Party politics in 2006
