Speaker Among holds bilateral meeting with Ghana counterpart

The Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Anitah Annet Among, today held a bilateral meeting with her Ghana counterpart Rt Hon Alban S. K Bagbin, ahead of the 27th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers (CSPOC2024) to take place beginning tomorrow at Commonwealth Resort Munyonyo in Kampala.

Among noted that international collaboration among Parliaments in the world should be based on mutual respect for the different peoples value systems, and not blackmail and intimidation, which are worryingly becoming the global trend.

“I urged African Parliaments and National Assemblies to unite and work in unison to advance the continent,” said Among.

Various African countries have clashed with Western countries over their stance on homosexuality with Western Countries accusing several African countries for being too harsh towards the people who identify as LGBTQ.
