Uganda will take full advantage of the forthcoming Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit scheduled to take place next week on Monday at Speke Resort Convention Center in Munyonyo to showcase its investment and trade potential.
With assistance from partners and the private sector, a business forum and exhibition showcasing Uganda’s investments, trade, and tourism is scheduled to take place between January 15–18 at Serena Hotel in Kampala.
With over 1500 delegates from120 countries, Uganda has the opportunity to show the world what it is capable of in these areas.
Half of the world’s mountain gorilla population is found in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which gives the country a competitive advantage over other African countries in the tourism sector.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is home to diverse ecosystems and one of the most popular tourist destination, home to big game, primate species, and over 600 bird species.
Relatedly, during the Summit, selected delegates will be hosted at the Spouses’ Programme, which will include a visit to Mulago Women’s Neonatal Specialised Hospital and a roundtable discussion on issues related to women’s empowerment.
With 6.5 billion barrels of recoverable oil reserves located in Western Uganda, natural resources like Gold, Natural Gas and other minerals on top of Agricultural products especially Coffee, Tea, Cotton and Flowers makes Uganda’s investment and trade potential outstanding.
The Minister for ICT, Honourable Chris Baryomunsi said that all visitors will receive free SIM Cards and will enjoy the fastest Wi-Fi 6 Internet installed at the Airport, Speke Resort Convention Center and Hotel Africana among other places.
