Members of Parliament on the Budget committee object to a request of Shs10 billion for the construction the National Planning Authority House saying it would be wasteful expenditure when gov’t procured offices in Bwebajja on Entebbe Road, that are not yet occupied.

MPs proposed that gov’t agencies seeking to construct new offices should fist utilize the Bwebajja facility. MPs are also concerned about the Shs6 billion allocated for titling, surveying and fencing 30 industrial parks owned by private investors.

These proposals are contained in a report of the Committee on Finance, Planning and Economic Development on the Budget Framework Paper for the financial year 2024/2025 presented by the Chairperson, Hon. Amos Kankunda.

The budget Committee is discussing the reports from the various Committees of Parliament as a requirement in the budget process!
