Museveni handed over the leadership of NAM – condemns the West!

The President of Uganda HE Kaguta Museveni has officially assumed office as the Chairman Non- Aligned Movement (NAM) at the ongoing NAM summit taking place at Munyonyo Common Wealth Resort Hotel in Kampala.

The seat was handed over by H.E Jeyhun Aziz Ogu Bayramov, foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, on behalf of President Ilham Aliye, the out going Chairman who was unable to make it for the summit!

In his message, President Museveni condemned exploitation and greed by the western world. “Why had the imperialists thought of dominating us,in the first place?” Museveni wondered! “These elements of exploitation, are totally unnecessary and only propelled by greed” Museveni while referring to Colonialism!

In his speech Museveni said that the strength of NAM should be used to exercise considerable influence particularly at the UN for the effective transformative process for a better common future.

“Our stand is that the World should concentrate on the common human problems ,prosperity through trade, the advance of science and technology to deal with human problems, the environment, crime and terrorism” Museveni said in his speech!
