Parliament to pay tribute to Cecilia Ogwal on Monday! Burial program released! 

Parliament will hold a special sitting on Monday, 22nd January to pay tribute to the late Hon Cecilia Ogwal who passed away on Thursday 18th January 2023.

Her body will lie in State in Parliament at 9 am for honourable members to pay their last respects.

This is contained in a program that has been released by the Speaker of Parliament for the whole process.

Cecilia Ogwal’s body will arrive in Uganda on Sunday 21st Jan 2024 at 2:00PM from which she will be taken to Mulago Hospital & thereafter A Plus Funeral Management.

On Monday 22nd Jan 2024 s/her body will lie in state at Parliament at 2:00PM from where she will be taken to Bugolobi in Kampala at her home for a vigil.

On Tuesday 23rd Jan 2024, Ogwal’s body will be taken all saints Cathedral Nakasero at 9:00AM for a Funeral service and thereafter to Dokolo via Soroti for a vigil at Adok Sub County.

On Wednesday 24th Jan 2024, the body will lie in the Dokolo District Council t 9:00 AM and thereafter be taken to Lira for a vigil at her residence.

On Thursday 25th the body will be taken to St Augusta Cathedral in Lira City for a funeral service at 9:00am and then at 3:00pm be taken to St Paul Church Alito Archdeaconary in Kole District and later proceed at her home in Kole District for a vigil!

Friday 26th Jan 2024, there will be a church service at her home and viewing of the body and then on Saturday 27th Jan 2024, she will be laid to rest in Kole District her ancestral home!
