The fallen woman legislator for Dokolo District Cecilia Atim Ogwal has been laid to rest at her home in Dog Gudu cell, Alito Town Council in Kole District.
The Vice President of Uganda HE Jesca Alupo, Deputy Speaker of Parliament of Uganda Annet Anita Among, Deputy Speaker of Kenya National Assembly Gladys Shollei & her husband, Leader of Opposition in Parliament, NRM Secretary General, Ministers and Members of Parliament are among the dignitaries that turned up for the final farewell and send off of the Hon Cecilia Ogwal on Saturday.
The Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa thanked Ogwal for always representing Uganda for being it’s ambassador whenever she went abroad. “You can disagree with your government but never disagree with your country. Wherever you are, be an ambassador to your country. I want to thank the late Cecilia Ogwal for being an ambassador of Uganda and not taking local issues to the global stage” Tayebwa said. Tayebwa also used the occasion to assure the people of Lango of Parliament supporting towards construction of Akibua stadium.

Leader of Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi described Ogwal as a person who promoted national Unity, “What Cecilia Ogwal longed for is that we can be united as a country. Regardless of our political shades, parties, and colors. That we can work together for the betterment of our country” said Ssenyonyi.
Patrick Amuriat Oboi, the FDC President while speaking to mourners asked NRM not to be violent in the by-elections to replace Cecilia Ogwal, “I want to warn the NRM that Atat was a peaceful person. Do not bring violence to the by-election of Dokolo District” said Amuriat!
