Speaker offers to support Nakasero pupil’s education

The Speaker of Parliament, Hon Anitah Annet Among, has offered to help a pupil of Nakasero Primary School until she completes school and achieve her dreams.

Ruth Precious Kharunda, a pupil of Nakasero Primary School boldly walked to the Parliament’s gates and told security officers that she had come to meet the Speaker.

“She was candid about her desire to stay in school despite the financial hardships her parents face in taking care of her five siblings.
Girls like Ruth deserve all the support they need and it is incumbent upon us to ensure they stay in school,” wrote the Speaker on her X social media platform.

The Speaker got in touch with the pupil’s parents and established where she lives before she made her contribution and promised to support her education further.
