Tayebwa Hails Govt for a Multi Billion Power Connection Project!

The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa commended the Electricity Access Scale-up Project (EASP), a new government programme that will see 1.3 million rural households connected to the national power grid.

Tayebwa made the remarks on Friday during the launch of the Electricity Access Scale-up Project held at Rwakitandara Play ground in Bitereko Subcounty in Mitooma Dusted on Friday. The said Project is going to connect 4.5 million people in 1.3 million households of which 300,000 households will be women headed families.

Thomas Tayebwa said that the project is a pivotal initiative that holds the promise of transforming lives in rural communities.

“This monumental UGX 2.4 trillion endeavor holds the power to revolutionize the lives of our cherished rural communities. Moreover, it will play a pivotal role in achieving the ambitious goals set forth by the parish development model. Additionally, it will empower our nation to recover the exorbitant sums of money paid annually to power generating companies in deemed costs without having to consume it” said Tayebwa.
