Why Joel Ssenyonyi is another crook hiding in opposition!

If you see any politician claiming to be so radical, just know he is a crook hiding and pretending. Joel Ssenyonyi has demonstrated this, and if we are going to fight corruption, Joel Ssenyonyi is not the fighter we need. His talking tough against the Speaker Anita Among is just nothing but a camouflage and deception. Although he has always refuted allegations that he amassed billions in dirty deals while working as Chairman COSASE, including extorting billions on the Airport deals cannot be wished or washed away after all, there is no smoke without fire!

The current saga where Ssenyonyi was paid five days per diem yet he spent only one day in Nairobi speaks volumes on his integrity. His claim that he was paid the money unknowingly is lame excuse! Let’s delve into details!

Ssenyonyi should answer these questions; Why did he write to the Speaker asking for 5 days to visit Ssegirinya in hospital? Why would in the first place visiting a sick person require 5 days? Was he the doctor diagnosing the patient? This meant that Ssenyonyi would be waking up from his hotel room, going to check on Ssegirinya, spend a day, go back to the hotel and sleep, wake up another morning and do the same for five days! Does this make sense? No, Ssenyonyi is a crook!

So in Ssenyonyi’s wisdom, as someone who claims to care for taxpayers’ money, he thought it is okay for taxpayers to spend USD 4250 as his per-diem allowance and USD 900 for his air ticket which is totaling to shs 20 million to check on Ssegirinya. If you add the opposition Whip and the Parliament staff with whom they travelled, the figure could go up to 50 million. And Ssenyonyi writes such a request and even appends his signature? And then he claims to be caring about tax payers’ money? No Ssenyonyi is a crook!

Lastly, Joel Ssenyonyi was paid 24 million to go for benchmarking on the Kenyan Opposition in Parliament. He was facilitated for 7 days starting from 3rd March to 9th March 2024. Surprisingly on 3rd March Ssenyonyi alongside Bobi Wine were in Jinja attending prayers at St Charles Lwanga Kalooli catholic Church in Jinja while on 9th March 2024, he was attending a foot soldier’s tournament in Bugiri District. So did he travel for 7 days or 5 days? Again what kind of benchmarking would take 5 days? How many meetings did they attend?

Why didn’t he combine this trip with checking on Ssegirinya? Why should you be paid 20 million to check on Ssegirinya in Kenya and after a few weeks you again ask for 24 million for benchmarking in the Kenyan Parliament? No, Ssenyonyi is just another crook!
