Hon Paul Akamba has today been officially nominated to contest for the Busiki County parliamentary seat under the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party. The nomination took place at the NRM Electoral Commission offices in Kampala, where Dr. Tanga Odoi, the Commission Chairperson, presided over the exercise and congratulated Akamba on his successful nomination.

Akamba, who previously served two terms as Member of Parliament for Busiki County, told Uganda Radio Network that he is seeking a third term in order to complete projects he initiated during his previous tenure.

“I want to go back to Parliament so I can finish the work I started,” Akamba said. “We still have at least five sub-counties without a secondary school, and that is something I must address. I will also push harder for piped water access in underserved areas.”

He said his experience in Parliament has given him the skills and connections needed to lobby for better service delivery, and that the next term would allow him to apply that experience more effectively.

Akamba emphasized that his campaign will focus on tangible community needs, especially education and water infrastructure, which he described as “basic rights, not privileges.”

With his nomination now confirmed, Akamba officially joins the race to reclaim the Busiki County seat ahead of the 2026 general elections.
