The event organizer Balaam Barugahara alongside other five newly appointed Ministers have been vetted and approved by the Parliament Appointments Committee Chaired by the Speaker of Parliament Annet Anita Among on Monday 25th March 2024.
The Ministers designate arrived at Parliament on Monday morning and they were received at the VIP longue at Parliament before being ushered into the Speaker’s boardroom where the meeting took place and they were approved.
The Ministers included Balaam Barugahara a business man and event organizer who also doubles as the Vice Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda. He was appointed Minister in charge of the youths and Children Affairs. Others include Kitgum Woman MP Lilian Aber, National Female Youth MP Phiona Nyamutoro, Sironko Woman MP Namboozo, former Private Secretary to the President Dr Kenneth Omona and former Chief of Defence Forces Wilson Mbadi Mbasu.

After the vetting, the Ministers expressed their gratitude.”Special appreciation to you, Rt. Hon Anitah Among, the Speaker of Parliament and other honourable members of the Appointments Committee for the generosity and thoughtfulness, exhibited this morning during my vetting as the youth and children’s minister. It was a pleasure meeting and interacting with you and indeed, I could not have asked for a more comfortable and enjoyable interaction” said Balaam after his approval!
On her part Phiona Nyamutoro vowed to add value to Uganda’s journey of development.
“This morning I was vetted as the designated Minister of State for Energy and Mineral Development (Minerals) by the Appointments committee chaired by Rt.Hon Anita Among .
I am Grateful for the journey to adding more blocks on Uganda’s development” said Phiona Nyamutoro.
The Ministers await to swear in and then start work immediately.
