Mbarara, Uganda — Bishop Stuart University yesterday celebrated a major milestone with the official commissioning of its new state-of-the-art basketball complex. The colorful ceremony was presided over by the Bishop of Ankole Diocese, who also serves as the University’s Chancellor Rt Rev Dr Sheldon Mwesigye.

The newly completed facility, built by Delcom Constructions, marks a significant boost to the university’s sports infrastructure and is expected to nurture budding talent in the region.
Speaking at the event, representatives from Delcom Constructions Zadock Muhoozi expressed pride in delivering yet another high-quality sports facility. “We are honored to have partnered with Bishop Stuart University on this important project,” said Muhoozi.
Earlier this year, Delcom Constructions also successfully completed a similar facility at Uganda Christian University’s Kampala Campus making them one of the leading companies in the construction of Sports facilities.
“We are grateful for the trust placed in us and remain committed to building a legacy of quality across Uganda.” said Muhoozi Zadock one of the directors at Delcom.
The new basketball court is part of Bishop Stuart University’s broader efforts to promote sports and co-curricular activities among its students, enhancing their physical wellbeing and fostering a spirit of teamwork.
As the university community cheered the new development, stakeholders hailed the project as a testament to the institution’s commitment to holistic education.
